経営不振に陥っているシャープは、官民ファンドの「産業革新機構」と台湾の「ホンハイ精密工業」から、それぞれ再建に向けた提案を受けて、水面下で主力銀行などと協議してきました。
シャープは先週までは、液晶技術を国外に流出させないという国の意向を反映し、「機構」から３０００億円規模の出資を行う提案に基づいて再建を進める方針でした。
しかし、「ホンハイ」側が最終局面で支援金額を大幅に上積みし、７０００億円を超える規模の資金を投じることを提案したということです。この結果、シャープは４日の取締役会で支援額の規模で勝るホンハイに優先交渉権を与え、台湾資本の傘下で再建を目指す方針を決めました。
ホンハイは先月末、経営トップの郭台銘会長みずからシャープの経営陣に対し再建策を説明し、雇用も守るなどと強調していました。この説明を受けシャープは、ホンハイの豊富な資金力と大口の取り引き先であるアメリカのアップルとの強い関係を活用することで、再建の可能性がより高まると判断したものとみられます。
