　朝方は前日の米株安や円高進行を受けて、幅広い銘柄に売りが出た。日経平均は前日までの３日間で1000円超上昇していたため、利益確定を目的とした売りも出て、一時は下げ幅が170円超に拡大した。

　後場になると景色が一変した。一部通信社が「日銀は金融機関への貸し出しにマイナス金利の適用を検討している」と報じ、銀行株などに買いが膨らんだ。外国為替市場で円相場が１ドル＝110円台前半と円安・ドル高方向に転じたことで、輸出関連株に採算の改善を期待した買いも入った。

　ＪＰＸ日経インデックス400は４日続伸して前日比132.85ポイント（1.05％）高の１万2753.05、東証株価指数（ＴＯＰＩＸ）も４日続伸して終値は13.82ポイント（0.99％）高の1407.50だった。
