６日発表の４月の米雇用統計で非農業部門の雇用者数の増加が市場予測を下回り、米国の早期利上げ観測の後退で同日の米国株が上昇したのが支えになった。米国の平均賃金は上昇したため円相場は一時１ドル＝107円台に下落し、日本株にとっては米国株高と円安という買い材料がそろった。６日までに大幅安だった反動もあって、買い戻しが優勢になった。
ＪＰＸ日経インデックス400は前週末比75.22ポイント（0.64％）高の１万1812.58と７日ぶりに反発した。東証株価指数（ＴＯＰＩＸ）も７日ぶりの反発で、終値は前週末比8.34ポイント（0.64％）高の1306.66だった。
東証１部の売買代金は概算で１兆7317億円と、15年12月30日以来の低水準にとどまった。売買高は17億1849万株だった。東証１部の値上がり銘柄数は1283、値下がりは567、変わらずは101だった。
