６日の東京株式市場で日経平均株価は続落し、前日比66円36銭（0.34％）安の１万9454円33銭で終えた。前日の外国為替市場の円相場が対ドルで上昇したのが嫌気され、下げ幅は160円を超える場面もあった。2016年12月の米雇用統計の発表を日本時間今夜に控えた３連休前とあって、持ち高調整を目的とした売りが優勢だった。
円相場は一時１ドル＝115円ちょうど付近まで上昇し、朝方は売りが先行した。売り一巡後はドルの買い戻しが強まり、輸出企業の採算悪化を警戒した売り圧力が和らぎ、日経平均は下げ幅を縮小した。午後からは日銀の株価指数連動型上場投資信託（ＥＴＦ）の買い入れ期待も相場の下支えとなった。もっとも、個人投資家を中心とした手じまい売りが重荷となり、日経平均は１万9500円の手前でもみ合った。
ＪＰＸ日経インデックス400は３日ぶりに小反落した。終値は前日比21.91ポイント（0.16％）安の１万3928.49だった。東証株価指数（ＴＯＰＩＸ）は小反落し、2.36ポイント（0.15％）安の1553.32で終えた。
東証１部の売買代金は概算で２兆3537億円。売買高は18億6189万株だった。東証１部の値下がり銘柄数は864だった。値上がりは1008、変わらずは132銘柄だった。
トランプ次期米大統領からメキシコ工場新設について「ありえない」とのネット投稿があったトヨタは下落した。2016年12月の国内既存店売上高が前年同月に比べ減少したファストリは大幅安となり、１銘柄で日経平均を110円程度押し下げた。住友電やマツダは下落し、新日鉄住金とＪＦＥも下げた。
一方、日産自の製造する自動運転車両を活用した新たな交通サービスプラットフォーム（基盤）の開発を決めたと発表したディーエヌエは大幅高。楽天とソフトバンクも上昇し、資生堂と大塚ＨＤは上げた。
東証２部株価指数は４日ぶりに反落した。シャープとフライトＨＤは下げ、メンバーズとＡＳＴＩは上げた。
６日の新興企業向け株式市場で、日経ジャスダック平均株価は４日続伸した。終値は前日比11円28銭（0.41％）高い2792円38銭で、2015年７月以来およそ１年６カ月ぶりの高値を付けた。午後は主力株の一角が持ち直すなど投資家心理がやや改善し、買いが幅広い銘柄に広がった。ジャスダック平均はじり高となり、きょうの高値で取引を終えた。
ジャスダック市場の売買代金は概算で496億円、売買高は１億480万株だった。ユニバーサルやアイレックス、構造計画が上昇した。半面、日本サードやセグエＧ、アイフリークは下落した。
東証マザーズ指数は小幅ながら４営業日ぶりに反落した。終値は前日比0.29ポイント（0.03％）安い981.01だった。そーせいやマイネット、イグニスが下落した。一方でリネットＪやモルフォ、ＪＩＧＳＡＷは上昇した。
