10日の東京株式市場で日経平均株価は大幅続落し、前日比372円05銭（2.31％）安の１万5713円39銭で終えた。１万6000円の大台を割り込んで約３週間ぶりに昨年来安値を更新し、2014年10月30日以来、およそ１年３カ月ぶりの安値を付けた。世界経済の先行き懸念を背景に、投資家はリスク資産を売る動きを強めた。円高・ドル安進行も重荷となり、幅広い銘柄に売りが広がった。東証１部の９割以上が下落した。

　朝方は買いが先行したが、上値は重く次第に売り圧力が強まった。リスクオフ（リスク資産の敬遠）姿勢が広がるなか、買い手不在の株式には売りが膨らんだ。大手銀株が一段安となったことも投資家心理の悪化につながった。節目の１万6000円を下値支持線とみていた投資家も多く、１万6000円を下回ったことでプットオプションの売り方から損失を限定させるための先物売りがかさんだ。現物株市場では、追い証（追加担保の差し入れ義務）の発生で保有株の投げ売りにつながり、相場下落に拍車をかけた。

　市場では「損失確定目的でヘッジファンドが売った」との声も聞かれた。あすが祝日とあって、買い持ち高を減らす投資家もあったという。後場に入っても売り優勢が続き、日経平均の下げ幅は一時650円を超えた。

　ＪＰＸ日経インデックス400は大幅続落した。終値は前日比354.97ポイント（3.02％）安の１万1416.56だった。東証株価指数（ＴＯＰＩＸ）も大幅続落し、39.37ポイント（3.02％）安の1264.96で終えた。

　東証１部の売買代金は概算で３兆5368億円。売買高は38億4903万株だった。東証１部の値下がり銘柄数は1780、値上がりは131、変わらずは26だった。
