18日の東京株式市場で日経平均株価は小幅に３日続伸した。終値は前日比63円49銭（0.38％）高の１万6963円61銭だった。中国・人民元の基準値が前日に比べ元高・ドル安に設定され、中国の通貨安への懸念が後退したことでリスク回避ムードが和らいだ。取引終盤にかけ、東京外国為替市場で円相場は一時１ドル＝104円台に下落。円高警戒感が後退したことも相場を下支えした。東証１部の売買代金は概算で１兆7731億円と低調だった。

朝方は前日の米株安やニューヨーク市場での円高進行を嫌気した売りに押された。一時は前日比55円95銭（0.33％）安の１万6844円17銭まで下落した。売り一巡後は人民元安の不安後退や円高一服を好感した買いが優勢となったが、あす19日午前に７～９月期の中国の国内総生産（ＧＤＰ）の発表を控えるうえ、日本時間20日午前には米大統領選候補の第３回テレビ討論会も予定され、相場を左右する重要日程を前に投資家の模様眺めムードも強かった。中長期の機関投資家による大口の買いが入らず薄商いが続くなか、上値を積極的に追う動きはみられなかった。

ＪＰＸ日経インデックス400は３日続伸した。終値は前日比34.65ポイント（0.29％）高の１万2137.09だった。東証株価指数（ＴＯＰＩＸ）も３日続伸。4.01ポイント（0.30％）高い1356.57で終えた。

東証１部の売買高は15億3182万株だった。東証１部の値上がり銘柄数は1272と、全体の64％を占めた。値下がりは564、変わらずは149銘柄だった。

前日に今期業績見通しの上方修正と増配を発表した大東建が終日堅調に推移し、大幅高で取引を終えた。三菱ケミＨＤや資生堂のほか、ソニーや菱地所も高かった。一方、今期業績見通しの上方修正を発表した東宝は利益確定売りに押され、大幅安となった。前場に年初来高値を更新したキーエンスは後場に下げに転じた。ＪＴやブリヂストンも下げた。日電産や花王の下げも目立った。

東証２部株価指数は４日続伸した。安川情報やシャープは上げ、象印や神島化が下げた。

18日の新興企業向け株式市場で、日経ジャスダック平均株価は４日続伸した。終値は前日比11円73銭（0.46％）高い2567円88銭と６月10日の戻り高値を上回り、１月８日以来、約９カ月ぶりの高値を付けた。東証１部市場の主力銘柄に膠着感が強まる中、材料が出た銘柄を中心に新興市場に資金が流入した。

ジャスダック市場の売買代金は概算で360億円、売買高は8045万株だった。イナリサーチやベクター、エージーピーが上昇した。半面、スパンクリトやオリコン、キャピタルＡは下落した。

東証マザーズ指数は続伸した。終値は前日比7.31ポイント（0.78％）高い949.10だった。Ｇｕｎｏｓｙやマイネット、クラウドＷが上昇した。ブランジスタやそーせい、ストライクは下落した。
